Here is a listing of Testimonials from the 2007 Symposium. Here is a listing of testimonials from last year's symposium. As a student, it is easy to lose hope. We come in ready for action, ready to help people, but are quickly overwhelmed with the workload. Thousands of pages of information, new vocabulary and techniques are given to us for rapid memorization and regurgitation. We often barely have time to sleep let alone see the bigger picture. When the real world seems so far away, nothing renews our enthusiasm and passion as having the opportunity to meet the surgeons in our field and learn about their accomplishments. We see how their hard work and diligence paid off, and what differences they make in people’s lives everyday. Attending this year’s Lower Extremity Surgical Symposium in Chicago was a once in a lifetime experience. Being in a room with the top surgeons in this field and being able to interact and learn from them was not only exciting, but provided a great deal of insight into the field of podiatry. As students we learn the anatomy, but here we were able to put that knowledge in the clinical realm. It also emphasizes the importance of a solid foundation with our education, and how the basic didactics play into our future careers. We also witnessed surgeons bouncing ideas off of each other to improve their techniques. This open forum of ideas to help the advancement of the field is a great way to improve our skills to heal our patients. I hope to attend many more conferences like this one in the future. Laura Shin Participating in the Chicago Annual Lower Extremity Surgical Symposium in September was an excellent training and learning experience. The invited faculty was top notch providing both a lecture and workshop environment best for understanding what can be difficult and complex problems. I never felt uncomfortable asking questions or approaching anybody. They faculty all were humble willing to lend their expert knowledge. The interaction between Podiatric Surgeons and Orthopedic Surgeons were refreshing. Dr. Rodriguez did a superb job coordinating this diverse and cutting edge symposium. I'mlooking forward to next year! Shawn Ward Thank for the invitation to particpate in CLESS. It was a pleasure and an honor.
